Supercharged Santa Clarita Valley

Supercharged Santa Clarita Valley

SCV Tesla Charging StationTesla owners rejoice! Dale Donohoe of Intertex Properties is pleased to announce that a new Tesla Supercharger station is set to open by the end of the week. Located in the Bridgeport Marketplace parking lot, this charging station is the first of its kind in the Santa Clarita Valley with 24 charging stations.

Supercharging is simple and convenient—just plug in your Tesla and charge up. Typical charging time is 30 minutes for half a charge to 60 minutes for a full charge. The charging station at Bridgeport Marketplace is conveniently located near several shops and restaurants like Undergrounds Coffee Shop, Sabor, Valley Produce, Rustic Burger, Kabuki Japanese Restaurant, California Pizza Kitchen, and Marstons.

The electricity used by the Supercharger comes from a solar carport system provided by SolarCity (a subsidiary of Tesla), which results in almost zero marginal energy cost after installation. Supercharging stations are installed in high traffic corridors. The Santa Clarita station is part of Tesla’s master plan to install these chargers throughout the continental United States enabling fast, 100% electric travel from coast to coast.

"Tesla's Supercharger network is a game changer for electric vehicles, providing long distance travel that has a level of convenience equivalent to gasoline cars for all practical purposes. However, by making electric long-distance travel at no cost, an impossibility for gasoline cars, Tesla is demonstrating just how fundamentally better electric transport can be," said Elon Musk, Tesla Motors co-founder and CEO. "We are giving Model S the ability to drive almost anywhere for free on pure sunlight."
