The SCV Life Style:  Health and Well-Being

Valencia Paseo SystemA key factor in attracting the talent a company needs to achieve its goals is, as they say, location, location, location.  The Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) delivers on this requirement, allowing its businesses to attract and retain the key personnel they need, making it a good location for business.  The SCV delivers options for a great lifestyle, particularly in health and safety.

Santa Clarita delivers for outdoor enthusiasts. The Valencia paseo system is comprised of over 30 miles of biking trails, walkways and bridges with more planned. It not only connects with the Santa Clara River Trail and San Francisquito Creek Trail systems, adding another 30+ miles to the system, it links neighborhood tracts, parks and recreation areas in a network of trails for pedestrians, runners and cyclists, not to mention school kids and other residents.  Thanks to the paseo system, you can explore the Santa Clarita Valley and seldom, if ever, need to cross a major street – a huge bonus for kids walking or biking to school or visiting their friends!  And combine the trails and the great southern California weather, and the SCV is a hikers and cyclists dream come true.  And Santa Clarita was named as Host City for the 2017 Amgen Tour of California.

Music soothes the soul they say, and the SCV delivers here too.  CalArts, one of the premier art institutes in the country, hosts The Wild Beast, a massive music festival held each spring.  There are J.A.M. Sessions in Newhall on Thursdays, Valencia Marketplace Summer Sunset Concerts and Jazz and Blues Friday evenings and Concerts in the Park on Saturdays.

And after getting some exercise and taking in some great music, you can take advantage of the Santa Clarita’s farmers market, still going strong after over 20 years and providing lots of options for fresh fruits and veggies, along with fresh fish and other protein options and baked goods.

Santa Clarita also delivers on safety.  As a master-planned community, housing is in residential areas, rather than on main streets, keeping people and cars separated – always a good thing!  That paseo system mentioned earlier allows lots of options for getting out and socializing, exercising and running errands without getting in your car or dealing with a crazy-busy intersection.  The community has been served by the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, a 238 bed, not-for-profit, acute care hospital since 1975, with additional care specialties and facilities continuing to be added. And The SafeWise Report included Santa Clarita among its 50 safest cities with more than 20,000 residents in California.

So come check out Santa Clarita, and see why both businesses and their teams love it here!
