Holly Schroder named Chair of the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board

Holly Schroeder, President and CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) has been selected by fellow Workforce Development Board Commissioners to serve as Chair of the Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board (WDB).

Holly Schroeder has over 25 years of management experience and executive experience in private sector, governmental, and non-profit organizations. After receiving a B.A. in Chemistry and French from St. Olaf College, she went on to pursue an M.S. in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon.

Schroeder has served as President & CEO of SCVEDC for 7 years. She was appointed to the Workforce Development Board by Supervisor Barger and the SCVEDC as a Business Representative.

“There has never been a more important time for Santa Clarita Valley businesses to have representation on the Workforce Development Board,” said Holly Schroeder. “It is an honor to serve as Chair and I look forward to continuing my work helping to ensure a strong and resilient workforce in greater L.A. County.”

Other appointed Officers include Darrel Sauceda, Vice Chair and Lola Smallwood Cuevas, Secretary/Treasurer. Per the WDB’s Bylaws, each Officer will serve a two-year term that started last month September 2020 and will end by March 2022.

The Los Angeles County Workforce Development Board is one of 45 Local Workforce Development Boards in the State of California, certified by the Governor of the State of California, and provides policy and oversight to the 2nd largest Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) in California, which services approximately 4 million residents, 58 of the 88 cities and approximately 150 unincorporated communities within Los Angeles County.
