The Economic Outlook Conference, scheduled for March 14, 2019, features speakers that will help business leaders prepare for the future. Economic forecasts are important for companies need to have both short and long-term pictures of what the economic trends will be and how they will impact their decision making.

Designed to provide attendees with an economic analysis and outlook for the coming year, the conference will include national, state and global perspectives, but will focus primarily on the trends and issues associated with the Santa Clarita Valley and the surrounding business community. Attendees will hear about topics such as demographics, employment, residential and commercial real estate trends, new developments and quality of life.

With the Santa Clarita Valley on the cusp of so much growth, this year’s theme is Santa Clarita Valley – Leading in an Age of Innovation. We have a fantastic speaker line up – each will share their expert take on how the SCV is truly shaping up to be a community that not only will embrace modern technological advances, but also continue to be a great place to live and work.

Our featured economist is Dr. Mark Schniepp from the California Economic Forecast which provides economic analysis and forecasting for a wide range of clients including businesses, non-profits, cities, regional organizations, colleges and universities. Dr. Schniepp will provide a forecast for the Santa Clarita Valley, along with State, National and Global trends.

Another featured speaker is Ravi S. Rajan, President of California Institute of the Arts, who will discuss the importance of the arts to create proximity and place, and our need to harness creativity in the next generation in order to propel strong communities.

Lewis Horne, Divisional President of CBRE will also speak at the event. His talk will address technology and innovation trends in real estate and the workplace and how they affect how we live and work.

Finally, Emile Haddad, Chairman and CEO of FivePoint, will share details of buildout of Newhall Ranch, one of the most environmentally sustainable master-planned communities in the nation, now under development in the western portion of the Santa Clarita Valley.
