Save the Date - Defense Supply Chain Business Resource Event on October 25

Are you looking to grow and diversify your business? On October 25, businesses in Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley and surrounding areas will have the unique opportunity to meet resource partners at the Northern Los Angeles County Defense Supply Chain Business Resource Event. All businesses interested or already participating in government contracting are welcome. Defense contractors or subcontractors are especially encouraged to attend.

Santa Clarita Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) and Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (GAVEA), in partnership with the California Community Colleges Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Economy Business and Entrepreneurship Sector, and the San Diego East County Economic Development Council are hosting this event in an effort to connect businesses to government procurement opportunities as part of the California Advanced Supply Chain Analysis and Diversification Effort (CASCADE) initiative. Businesses will have the opportunity to attend workshops that will share resources to be more competitive and become more resilient in cybersecurity.

 

“SCV and AV are rich hubs for businesses serving the aerospace and defense supply chain.” SCVEDC President and CEO, Holly Schroeder said. “At this informative event, small businesses can learn how to be competitive in the government market and how to gain access to new contract opportunities.”

 

Businesses can register for this North LA County Defense Supply Chain Business Resource Event at no cost. The event will consist of several workshops, networking with presenters and attendees, and showcase keynote presentations by Brian Brooks, Senior Manager of Lockheed Martin Supply Chain Management, Advanced Development Programs and Congressman Steve Knight.

 

The North LA Event will be held on October 25, at College of the Canyons in the Dr. Dianne Van Hook University Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. Lunch and light breakfast will be provided.
