Nasmyth TMF Celebrates Grand Opening

IMG_7119.jpgNasmyth Group, a world leader and global supplier of precision engineering solutions in the aerospace industry based in the United Kingdom, held their grand opening of a new facility in the Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) on March 22. This facility will significantly expand their footprint and ability to deliver metal surface treatments to aerospace and defense clients in SCV and the United States.

Key factors in Nasmyth Group’s decision to relocate their state-of-the-art processing line in Santa Clarita was their desire to be closer to their customer base, the ability to expand, lower costs of doing business, safety and security, and the availability of incentive packages.

Nasmyth Group’s US regional headquarters has also relocated to their Santa Clarita facility to support their business development in North America.

Santa Clarita is a fast-growing hub for advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense. The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) manages the SCV Aerospace and Defense Coalition, which provides members the opportunity to connect and grow local business relationships.

Those who attended the event were treated to tours of the facility and presentations from Nasmyth officials offering a preview of what is in store for the SCV location.

Geoff Folks, Executive VP of Nasmyth TMF, remarked, “This California location has a mass of opportunities for Nasmyth TMF capabilities. Being in the Santa Clarita Valley has positioned us with over 100 potential SME’s that meet the requirements of Nasmyth TMF.” On this rare Southern California rainy day, he joked that another reason the British company decided to locate in the SCV is, “The California weather and everlasting sunshine.”

Nasmyth TMF moved their existing team of high-skilled employees to the new facility and plans to hire an additional 40 workers in the next two years. They expect to complete Phase 3, a new, state-of-the-art metal finishing line by this July.

Holly Schroeder, President and CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development corporation warmly welcomed Nasmyth TMF to the SCV at the event. “We are thrilled that Nasmyth TMF has chosen to locate in the Santa Clarita Valley with their state-of-the art, best in class technical metal finishing. It is a service that well supports the needs of our robust aerospace and defense industry, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth and success in the SCV.”

The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation was integral in Nasmyth TMF’s decision to relocate. The SCVEDC has awarded the company with the Industry Cluster Attraction Incentive, offered to companies that are growing in our target clusters. The incentive offers up to $40,000 to select companies who relocate to the Santa Clarita Valley.
