SCVEDC Announces Vallarta Supermarkets Move of Corporate HQ to Santa Clarita

Welcome Vallarta and it's corporate employees to the Santa Clarita Valley!

 

SANTA CLARITA VALLEY, CA – The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) announced today that California-based Vallarta Supermarkets will relocate its corporate headquarters to the Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) in late 2023. Vallarta Supermarkets has purchased a three-building campus at 28470 - 28490 Avenue Stanford in Santa Clarita. The three buildings that make up the "Valencia Corporate Plaza” encompass 195,387 square-feet of office space. This campus is bordered by Advanced Bionics (HQ), Donaldson, Southern California Edison, and several other small businesses and manufacturers in the Valencia Industrial Center.

 

LA North Acquires 5th Studio Building in SCV

After snagging the last available building at the IAC Commerce Center in January, LA North Studios has not slowed down in their drive to meet the fervent demand for production space. On Tuesday last week CBRE announced that the company has signed yet another long-term lease at the previous headquarters of MechanixWear Gloves. Just down the street from their most recent acquisition, this striking building adds 70,550 square feet of industrial space to their inventory. 

Building 10 Welcomes New Tenant at Needham Ranch

Newmark Knight Frank (“NKF”) negotiates 169,854-Square-Foot Industrial Lease at The Center at Needham Ranch in Santa Clarita, CA.

 

Newmark Knight Frank (“NKF”) announced it has negotiated a 169,854-Square-Foot Industrial Lease at 21480 Needham Ranch Parkway, at The Center at Needham Ranch. The new tenant, Tire's Warehouse, will occupy newly constructed building 10 at the site. Tire's Warehouse will join current tenants Amazon, LA North Studios, Illumination Dynamics, and recently expanded beverage manufacturer DrinkPAK. With this move to SCV from the San Fernando Valley, Tire's Warehouse has now tripled their facility space in North Los Angeles. Phase 1 at The Center at Needham Ranch is completely leased and construction on Phase 2 is well underway, with buildings 11 through 18 still in the works. 

 

SBA Dramatically Increases Disaster Loans Under the COVID EIDL Program

The Small Business Administration has significantly upped the cap for COVID-19 Emergency Injury Disaster Loans (COVID EIDL) from $500,000 to $2 million, providing low-interest, long-term loans for small businesses and nonprofits who experienced or continue to experience economic harm resulting from the pandemic.  

 

Final Building Gets Walls at IAC Commerce Center

  Last week the IAC Commerce Center celebrated the initial  raising of  the walls in the third and final phase of development.  The 7th  building is a 113,400 square foot Class A industrial  facility. The  construction is expected to be substantially  completed by the end  of this year, and ready for use in Q1 of  2022. Prospective tenants  would join current residents  Amazon, Bay Center Foods,  Happy Returns, and  more. 

 

DrinkPAK Already Expanding in the SCV

DrinkPAK Now Occupies More Than 572,000 Square Feet in Needham Ranch

 

Six months after signing its first lease in the Center at Needham Ranch (CANR) industrial park, DrinkPAK, the premier West Coast alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage manufacturer, is already expanding its footprint in Santa Clarita, California.

 

Currently, DrinkPAK leases 172,324-square-foot at (CANR) and just this week signed two more leases for an additional 400,095-square-feet, bringing their total space occupied to 572,419-square-feet. This location will house the company’s procurement support, complex batching and processing, filling, packaging, and on-site storage and distribution.

The City of Santa Clarita and Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) are excited to announce that 149 small businesses within the Santa Clarita Valley were approved to receive a one-time financial reimbursement for COVID-related expenses of up to $5,000 per individual business, as a part of the Santa Clarita Small Business COVID Relief Grant.

Interested applicants began receiving their approval or denial letters beginning on Thursday, November 19. Verified eligible businesses that have met all specified grant qualifications and requirements can expect to receive grant funds by the end of the year.

Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and Clarion Partners, LLC announced Wednesday that LA North Studios, one of Santa Clarita’s newest and largest soundstage facility and studio operators, has signed a five-year lease to take over 113,640 square feet at Building 5 at The Center at Needham Ranch. LA North plans to convert the space into a fully functioning satellite soundstage hub when it opens in early 2021.

The City of Santa Clarita is thrilled to announce that the City Council has approved the Santa Clarita Small Business COVID Relief Grant program to help local small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Approval was given during the October 13 City Council meeting. SCVEDC is partnering with the City in order to allow companies across the SCV to apply.

On September 25, 2018, the Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) Board of Directors approved the agency's New Employment Center Commuter Services, creating three new bus routes that will provide service to some of the North County's largest employers in the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita. The new commuter services, to be implemented within the next 90 calendar days, will create Route 788 servicing manufacturers in the Santa Clarita area with two additional routes servicing companies in the Antelope Valley. The goal is to encourage Antelope Valley-based workers to make the positive change to using public transit as a means of getting to work.
