50 acre business park to break ground in Santa Clarita

New Development in the Santa Clarita Valley makes the news again as Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and Clarion Partners announce the acquisition of 54 acres of land for the development of The Center at Needham Ranch, a state-of-the-art business park in the City of Santa Clarita, CA. This project is the first phase of a larger 132-acre, fully entitled site approved for up to 4.2 million square feet of Class A industrial space. Phase 1 is scheduled to break ground in August 2017 and expected to begin deliveries during the Q3 2018.

Scorpion’s new headquarters will be the first creative office building of its kind in the area, and will prominently feature an environmentally conscious, employee-centric design.

Attracted by a growing cluster of medical device and bioscience companies, Avita Medical will move its headquarters staff of 25 from Northridge to Santa Clarita by the end of the year. The company specializes in the treatment of wounds and skin defects, including chronic wounds, acute burns and aesthetics.

November is a time to give thanks and a time for reflection as we approach the year’s end. I find myself reflecting on, among other things, my appreciation for our local economy.

We all know Santa Clarita for the master-planned communities, excellent school systems, expansive parks and trails, and overall awesome lifestyle. Many local residents, however, are unaware of what's growing in our valley: business. While most of us drive from one end of this "small town" to the other, we rarely stop to notice that Santa Clarita is home to some major industry giants: Six Flags, Princess Cruises, Quest Diagnostics, Advanced Bionics, Samsung, Sunkist and soon, Logix Federal Credit Union.

On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation recognized the City of Santa Clarita as the Most Business Friendly City with a population greater than 68,000 and the City of Pico Rivera as the Most Business Friendly City with a population under 68,000.

SetPoint biomedical technology company has signed a long-term lease for more than 14,000 square feet at a research and medical park in Santa Clarita, according to L.A. based-CBRE Group Inc.

Aerospace company Air Bolt Group of North Hollywood signed a 10-year lease in March for an 8,500 square foot building on Avenue Crocker in the Valencia Industrial Center. NAI Capital helped broker the deal. Additional terms of the lease were not disclosed. Air Bolt manufactures latches, struts, buts and bolts for commercial aircraft.

Image 2000, after growing its print services company into one which harnesses hardware and software technology solutions, is relocating to Santa Clarita from Van Nuysand hopes to be open by May 1. First launched in 1992, the privately owned firm now grosses $30 million annually.

SCVEDC awarded Richard Photo Lab an Industry Cluster Attraction Incentive (ICAI) of $23,694 today. Richard Photo Lab relocated to the Santa Clarita Valley in 2015. As a company in the Digital Media & Entertainment cluster, the company was eligible for the incentive.

The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) announced that it is now accepting applications for the California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC). Growing companies in the Santa Clarita Valley are encouraged to apply.

CDS Doors, manufacturer of quality cooler and freezer glass doors, is relocating to the SCV after the first of the year. The company has acquired a 50,000 square foot building in Canyon Country on Sierra Highway.

Film industry people, studio and movie ranch owners and operators, and members of the Santa Clarita Economic Development Corporation executive committee and board gathered to tour the Disney’s Golden Oak Ranch – the land that Walt Disney first acquired in 1959.

Last week, the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) announced that Logix Federal Credit Union will be moving its headquarters to the Santa Clarita Valley.

Logix Federal Credit Union — a longtime Burbank fixture with ties stretching back to the area’s aviation heyday — will relocate its headquarters to the Santa Clarita Valley, officials announced today.

The credit union, which has operated in Burbank for 78 years, confirmed its plans in an announcement Tuesday.

“After careful analysis of options that included alternate locations, as well as expansion on the current headquarters site, the Logix board determined the best long-term option is in the Santa Clarita Valley,” said Dave Styler, CEO of Logix, in a statement.

Founded as the Lockheed Aircraft Federal Credit Union in 1937 to serve employees of the aircraft company, the credit union has more than 150,000 members and more than $4 billion in assets, and currently has four branches in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Logix Federal Credit Union will be moving its headquarters to the Santa Clarita Valley. Logix has acquired a 12-acre vacant parcel in the Valencia Commerce Center near the junction of Interstate 5 and State Highway 126.

Looking to expand, Ram Board has selected Santa Clarita as the site for its new home base.
