Industrial Market in SCV Never Missed a Beat 

While the COVID-19 crisis initially gave many companies pause for good reason, 2020 was an exceptionally good year for industrial real estate across the board, the Santa Clarita Valley included. In 2020, the SCVEDC was pleased to announce that several new companies chose to locate in the Santa Clarita Valley including two Amazon fulfillment centers, DrinkPAK, a beverage manufacturer, and a state-of-the-art medical testing lab. Several SCV companies expanded as well, including P3 Inc., LA North Studios, Lief Labs, 24/7 Events and Mellady Direct Marketing.

LA North Studios to Add Soundstages at The Center at Needham Ranch

Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and Clarion Partners, LLC announced Wednesday that LA North Studios, one of Santa Clarita’s newest and largest soundstage facility and studio operators, has signed a five-year lease to take over 113,640 square feet at Building 5 at The Center at Needham Ranch. LA North plans to convert the space into a fully functioning satellite soundstage hub when it opens in early 2021.

Developers Trammell Crow Co. and Clarion Partners have announced that DrinkPAK, an alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage manufacturer, has inked a deal to occupy space at the joint venture's The Center at Needham Ranch industrial park in Santa Clarita.

New Testing Lab to Open in Santa Clarita Valley

The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that the State of California plans to open a new medical testing lab in the Santa Clarita Valley. The state is in final lease negotiations on a property in the Livingston Technology Park that features 12,000 square feet of Class 7 and 8 clean room space in the 134,287 square foot facility.

New Brain Stimulation Center to Open in SCV

Santa Clarita, CA -- The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) has announced the opening of BrainStim Centers, Inc., in the Santa Clarita Valley. Brainstim Centers, Inc., focuses on supporting brain health through the process of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Local and innovative neurosurgeon Dr. Mark Liker, who initiated and leads the center, anticipates that it will be the first of several such state-of-the-art therapeutic centers in California.

 Riedel Communications Brings North American Headquarters to SCV 

The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that Riedel Communications is relocating its North American headquarters to the Santa Clarita Valley. Riedel Communications designs, manufactures, and distributes innovative real-time networks for video, audio and communications. Its products are used for broadcast, pro-audio, event, sports, theatre and security applications worldwide.

New Development = Job Creation

New development might seem undesirable to some, but there are a wide range of positive effects it can have on the local economy. A whole host of jobs are required just to build one building: contractors, managers, engineers, and inspectors are just some of the many jobs that new development requires. However, the impact of new commercial, industrial, and standard office development on job creation reaches far beyond new construction. After all, once the development is completed it isn’t finished creating jobs. Manufacturing companies, offices and retail locations need employees. TeamCalifornia, a statewide non-profit with a focus on marketing California as a great location for business, hosted Meet the Consultants in Sacramento, California on November 5 and 6, 2019. This two day event offered economic development organizations (EDOs) from across the state opportunities for learning from and networking with top site consultants who gave presentations on a wide variety of topics such as California competitiveness, foreign direct investment, incentives, trends in advanced manufacturing, and labor and workforce.

California Competes Tax Credit Application Period Now Open

Have you heard about the California Competes Tax Credit? It’s an income tax credit supporting growth of high quality jobs in California, available to businesses who want to come to, stay in, or grow in our state. Through a two-phase process, businesses apply and compete for this credit during three application periods each year.

CBRE announced that premier protective glove manufacturer Mechanix Wear, Inc. leased 93,735 square feet of space at IAC Commerce Center in Valencia. CBRE’s Craig Peters and Doug Sonderegger represented the landlord IAC Properties in this transaction.
